Membership applications may only be sponsored by a Club Member in good standing. Applications must be completed in full, signed and dated by both the applicant and the sponsoring member. The sponsoring member must be present at the general membership meeting at which the application is reviewed. The completed application and a check for the appropriate fees must be presented to a member of the Board of Directors or an Officer of the Choptank River Yacht Club. The application will be reviewed at the next Board Meeting then proposed at the next General Membership meeting. Each applicant is subject to the unanimous approval of the Board of Directors of the Choptnak River Yacht Club. In the event that any applicant is refused membership, no explanation, written or oral, shall be given.

Fees

In order to apply for membership to the Choptank River Yacht Club, you must have a Club sponsor, download and complete the application below, and submit your $775 application fee and $225 first year dues to a Board Member or Officer of the Club.

In addition, there is a $550 slip rental fee during Boating Season. Members must provide a copy of their boaters insurance prior to renting a slip. Previous years’ slip holders have first choice at slip rental. For more information, or to dock your boat per diem, please contact CRYC, or chat with the bartender on duty.

House Rules

  1. State Laws to be enforced:
    A. Shirt and shoes required.
    B. No pets allowed in the Clubhouse.
    C. No one under 21 years of age can sit at the Bar.
  2. Anyone serving minors alcoholic beverages will be barred of all club privileges for a minimum of thirty (30) days.
  3. Anyone under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult before operating machines. (TV, Pool Table, etc.)
  4. Parents bringing children to the Club are responsible for their welfare and safety inside and outside the Club and shall exercise reasonable judgment in removing children during adult functions and after hours (10:00 p.m.)
  5. NO ONE is allowed behind the Bar except the Bartenders and Club Officers.
  6. Club Officers or Bartender will control the jukebox and TV during Club functions.
  7. The Bartender, under the supervision of the Vice Commodore, is in charge of the Bar and can refuse service to anyone or ask them to leave. If the problem is severe, they will inform a Club Officer to suggest action be taken by the Club’s Board of Directors.
  8. The Bar will remain open during the Club membership meeting but no drinks may be purchased by Club members once the meeting starts except when the meeting is in recess.
  9. Members are responsible for their guests and must have them sign in on the guest register.
  10. Members are to use key cards.
  11. The boat ramp is to be used by members, guests accompanied by a member, and guest organizations.
  12. Any private use of the facilities must be approved by Club Officers and will be noted in the monthly newsletter when possible.
  13. Food and beverage consumed on Club property is to be purchased from the Club unless the facility is used for a member’s private party and the Club Staff is incapable of providing the catering required by the member. The Vice Commodore must approve this arrangement and charge appropriate fee to cover cost associated with kitchen use and cleanup.
  14. Prepared foods for private functions and events will require a minimum guaranteed number of people to be served.
  15. No one under 16 years of age is allowed in the cooking area of the kitchen.
  16. Members will conduct themselves in a mannerly fashion so as not to offend other members or disrupt the pleasant atmosphere of the Club. NO PROFANITY!
  17. Members having issues with any House Rule may petition, in writing, the Club’s Board of Directors.
  18. Use of floats and piers – Members are welcome to have their guests use the Club’s floats and piers. If the guest’s boat remains overnight you must ensure that you record your guest’s name and the boat’s description in the club guest book and pay the posted member daily slip rental fee.
  19. Use of floats and piers – Members (as well as their guests) are welcome to use the Club’s floats and piers. Members are to notify the Bartender or any officer in the Club, if it is open, of their intent to leave their boat overnight. Dock fees are to be paid in advance if possible, and are set by the Board. Long-term dockage is available providing the members notify the Fleet Captain of their intent prior to docking their boat and sign the Club’s Lease Agreement. If a guest’s boat remains overnight, the member must ensure they record the guest’s name, and the boat’s description in the Club guest book and pay the posted member daily slip rental fee.
  20. Gas Dock – Use of the CRYC gas dock is limited to members, their guests and members of reciprocating CBYCA Clubs. The gas dock is not open to the general public.
  21. No Swimming or Diving on the premises
  22. The Commodore shall reserve the right to interpret and enforce these rules. Any rule infraction should be reported to a Club Officer.
  23. Only Members may purchase alcohol at the bar.
